Over a timeline of 2-3 weeks, we developed a solution that included a custom enclosure with features that would suit the hospital’s needs.
One of the key customizations was the addition of castor wheels, allowing easy movement of the enclosure for routine cleaning. This feature helped them maintain cleanliness around the printer while providing accessibility for their staff.
Outcome
The custom enclosure was completed and installed successfully, exceeding Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s expectations. “It has held up to the cleaning products we routinely apply to the outside of the enclosure,” said Daniel De Arazoza, a hospital representative. “We haven’t had any issues with the opening of the enclosure; so far, it’s been pretty bulletproof.”
The implementation of the enclosure transformed the hospital’s workflow. Having the printer inside the cleanroom significantly reduced the volume of phone calls for medication reports, enhancing efficiency. “It removed about 100 phone calls a day in the pharmacy asking for us to send the report,” said Daniel. “From a workflow standpoint, it is a night and day difference.”
